Can Herbal Laxatives Cause Dependence?
If constipation
occurs and herbal laxatives are used, they can definitely help to
alleviate problem in the short term. But if the constipation was a
long standing problem, then the laxatives may only work to alleviate
the problem while they are being taken. And if they are used
continuously, what appears to be dependence may seem to occur. But
in effect it is not dependence, but actually the underlying problem
resurfaces again if the laxatives are stopped.
- The only real meaningful solution to this problem is to address
the underlying problem. Usually a vegetarian
diet, some regular
exercise and a good colon
cleanse will bring lasting good health.
What if I am already
vegetarian, and I exercise and still have constipation?
- The problem could be due to any of the following:
-
-an accumulation of mucoid
plaque.
- -On over acidic
vegetarian diet.
-
-Emotional
problems.
-
- The mucoid
plaque can be thick, hard and difficult to remove by diet alone,
it also makes a nice breeding ground for parasites. There is however
a very good remedy which has been used successfully by countless
people, that is a good
herbal colon cleanse. Our favorite colon cleanse is the Blessed
Herbs 8 day colon cleanse. From our research we have found it to
be the easiest way to eliminate mucoid
plaque and other bowel debris.
-
- An over acidic
diet , which is also the cause of mucoid plaque, can be
rectified by consuming a diet of approximately 70% alkaline
forming foods and 30% acid
forming ones. This will help to ensure the body maintains an
appropriate balance of minerals, and the bowel stays healthy.
