The Master Cleanse Review
We do not rate the Master Cleanse as one of the best cleanses on the market (see cleanse review chart), but it is certainly popular, especially with celebrities and people wanting to lose weight and detox the body using a homemade colon cleanse. It is also fairly cheap to buy all the ingredients and they are all natural. People performing the cleanse definitely experience many benefits including weight loss, improved digestive function and well being etc, but the reason for our rating is that we feel it is a little too hard on the body and inconvenient, when compared to the likes of the Blessed Herbs Cleanse and the Colonix programs. We also do not like the idea of consuming salt water. The Master Cleanse can be performed for as long as a person likes, but generally it goes for around 10 days. It involves complete abstinence from food, with the cleanser only consuming the 'Lemonade drink', which consists of pure water, fresh lemon juice, pure maple syrup and cayenne pepper. The purpose of the Master Cleanse, as stated in Stanley Burroughs book 'The Master Cleanser' is:
Cleanse Ingredients:Ingredients can be purchased here Maple Syrup: Provides the body with sugars for energy, minerals and vitamins. Lemon: Helps to break up mucus, provides minerals and vitamins and cleanses the body. Cayenne Pepper Powder: Aid stimulation of the body, breaks up mucus, provides vitamins and minerals and cleanses the body. Sea Salt: Consumed in the morning with 1 litre of water. Flushes the bowel out. Laxative Tea: Taken before bed, stimulates the bowel to move. For a more thorough summary of the cleanse, please read the Master Cleanse Summary here .
