Liver Detox Diet

A great way to detoxify the liver is by drinking beetroot juice. Although we recommend removing all the mucoid plaque from the bowels first by doing a colon cleansing . This point is often ignored by many people, as liver cleansing has been hyped up a lot in the media recently, without the adequate explanations as to why a liver would need to be cleaned.

Firstly, the liver filters the blood, but the bowel feeds the blood. Hence a dirty bowel means dirty blood, which leads to a dirty liver. Cleaning the liver is pointless if the bowel is still coated in mucoid plaque.

Colon cleansing should be done once every few months until all mucous is removed, and then performed as often as needed, depending on the diet of each person. Generally a person on a well balanced vegetarian diet will be fine with one colon cleanse a year.

How to tell if your colon is clean

Take a good quality colon cleansing product containing psyllium and bentonite. If no mucoid ropes come out, and the psyllium and bentonite comes out as clean ‘blobs’, then you are clean. If your colon has plaque in it, and you consume a psyllium and bentonite (PSB) shake, the presence of the mucous will be unmistakable.

Once the colon is clean, additional cleansing can then be undertaken on the different organs and liver. For th purpose of this article we will just focus on the liver, but for a good general all over clean and rebuild of the bodies organs, including skin and blood, we recommend the Blessed Herbs Internal Cleansing Kit as it cleans the Colon and Digestive System, Liver, Gallbladder, Parasites, Lungs, Kidneys, Bladder, Lymph, Blood, and Skin.

A Simple Liver Cleanse

Drink beetroot juice and stick to at least a 70% alkaline and 30% acid forming vegetarian diet. A 100% alkaline vegetarian diet would be optimal in addition to fresh beetroot juice each day.

The effects of a simple diet and beetroot juice on cleansing the liver should not be underestimated, as many people like to go for more complicated concoctions and pills, the roots of the problem must be uprooted to solve the problem properly.

Beetroot juice is extremely powerful, as anyone who has a dirty liver and drinks a cup of it can attest too. It is best to start on ¼ cup per day, and work your way up as you feel comfortable.

This liver detox will probably stimulate your bowel movements, and make your urine and stools red. No alarm should be taken as this is completely normal. The red colour is not blood, but is the red pigment from the beetroot being expelled.

Beetroot contains a chemical called betaine that stimulates the liver cells and protects the liver and bile ducts. It also is reported to build red corpuscles in the blood. It is high in iron, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, vitamin A and C, and others. Beetroot also has a high tumor-inhibiting effect. In an article in the February 27, 1996 issue of Cancer Letters. “The combined findings suggest that beetroot ingestion can be one of the useful means for preventing cancer.”

People who would especially benefit from a liver cleanse are people who used to drink alcohol, eat meat or dairy products, take drugs such as marijuana, speed, cocaine, methyl amphetamines, heroin, smack, tobacco and any other harmful substances. The reason being that these substances greatly damage the liver, and the high alkaline vegetarian diet, combined with the beetroot juice, does an excellent job of rebuilding it for those looking to regain their health and vitality.

For a more serious and thorough liver cleanse, we recommend the lemon and olive oil flush.
