Homemade Colon Cleanse Recipes

Just as there are many ways to experience the joy of life, there are also many ways to cleanse the colon and heal the body. The following list will outline several homemade colon cleansng recipes, some of which are popular and some which are less popular.

Psyllium and Bentonite Cleanse

Probably the most effective way to cleanse the colon is with Psyllium and Bentonite shakes (or P&B shakes). You can purchase both quite cheaply from Mountain Rose Herbs . Be sure to use Organic Psyllium Husk Powder and not whole psyllium seeds or unpowdered husks. And also their Bentonite Clay and Organic Powdered ginger is also highly recommended.

The shakes can be taken as often as desired (no more than 5 a day) as long as food is not consumed 2 hour before or after, as the food will get absorbed by the clay.

The bentonite clay absorbs many times it’s own weight in toxins and sticks to the mucous on the walls of the bowel, drawing it out. The psyllium helps to bins it all together and provide bulk. The ginger helps to stop gas, and disinfects and removes some parasites.

How To Make

-Mix 1 teaspoon of psyllium, 1 teaspoon of bentonite and 1/2 a teaspoon of ginger powder.

-Put the mixture into a jar with 250mL of organic apple juice and shake vigourously until lumps are gone.

-Drink it right away, follow straight away with 250mL of water.

-30 mins before dinner take a herbal laxative.

-Stick to a vegan diet, fruit diet or even better a liquids fast.

-The diet can be followed as long as a person feels necessary.

Master Cleanse

Also known as the lemon cleanse, this is by far the most popular homemade colon cleansing recipe. It involves abstaining from food and consuming only the lemon, cayenne and maple syrup drink and also a laxative tea each night and 1 litre of salt water in the morning. This cleanse has the benefit of resting all the organs and eliminating many toxins including mucoid plaque. The cayenne pepper is responsible for breaking up the mucus. Like most of the homemade cleanse recipes, there is no fixed time taken for the cleanse, but it it recommended to continue cleansing until the tongue is clean. Toxins will be eliminated from many parts of the body, and a white tongue is a sure sign that toxin are still coming out. For first time cleansers 30 days may be a good time to cleanse, although it may be longer than many people can handle or afford the time. Green Papaya Tropical Cleanse

The papaya, or paw paw as it is know in some countries, contains a very powerful enzyme called papain which is capable of dissolving hardened mucous and removing toxins. Hardened mucus, also known as mucoid plaque is the predominant reason people get parasites in the bowel and cannot absorb food and nutrients properly. The bowel excretes mucous to protect itself from wrong eating, and if this continues for a long time, the mucous becomes hard and inhibits nutrient absorption and provides a breeding ground for the parasites. The enzyme papain is abundant in green papaya (or unripe papaya). The reason the enzyme is so powerful is that it breaks down proteins, starches and fats in any PH medium, unlike the bodies own enzymes which only work in a specific PH environment. This gives papain the ability to travel through the body breaking down toxic molecules.

To perform the Green Papaya Tropical Cleanse a person should blend a small amount (around 200 grams) of green papaya with other fruits and some water in the blender and drink. It is best to drink it first thing in the morning and also throughout the day. It is also useful to eat mostly, or only alkaline forming foods, as this will assist the cleansing process. The person may also take a psyllium shake twice a day and a herbal laxative such as senna to assist th cleansing process.

Water Fasting

One of the most powerful method to cleanse the body, but also the most difficult, is water fasting. This is where the person completely abstains from putting anything into their mouth except purified water. This kind of fasting is only recommended for the most serious and experienced cleansers as it can be dangerous.

While performing water fasting it is recommended to:

  • get plenty of rest
  • drink plenty of water
  • abstain from all foods and juices
  • perform a few enemas in the beginning, and possibly each day, if you want.
  • avoid sex
  • avoid unnecessary talking
  • meditate
  • and in general conserve ones energy

Juice Fasting

Juice fasting another very popular method of cleansing the colon, it involves only drinking freshly pressed fruit and vegetables for a period of time. Apple, mango, pineapple and papaya juices are especially good for this regime as they contain enzymes which can help to detoxify the body and dissolve mucoid plaque. Juice fasting can be difficult though for first time cleansers, and we would recommend using a proper colon cleansing kit. Experienced cleansers can have great success on the juice fast though, as it is a little less extreme than pure water fasting, yet still cleanses the body well because it contains no solid food.
